It all started with a friendship

Best friends since high school (yes, really!), Trent and Ashley have spent the last two decades doing life side by side. From college roommates to business partners, they’ve always balanced each other perfectly - Trent bringing the big energy and natural people manager gift, and Ashley bringing the detail-loving mind and expert project manager organization.

Somewhere along the way came the idea: “We should start a business together.” The only question was what to call it. The answer? “We’re not sure yet… but it’ll be something fabulous.” After helping family members bring their wedding visions to life and eventually Ashley’s own, Something Fabulous Weddings & Events was officially born.

Since launching in 2017, they’ve planned and designed over 500 weddings and events, while growing a trusted team of planners who share their passion for seamless coordination, thoughtful design, and joy-filled celebrations.

Hi, I’m Ashley, the spreadsheet queen of Something Fabulous. I'm an NC native with old soul tendencies. I love a good book, a cozy blanket, a puzzle, and snuggling my pets, Dakota, Clementine, and Elmer Dean.

My favorite part of wedding planning is bringing together all of the logistical elements that make an event run smoothly. From vendor setups, ceremony processionals, fluffing dresses, and making sure that Trent doesn’t lose his clipboard, being onsite bringing it all together makes my type A heart happy.

When I’m not being a workaholic, I love to drink diet cokes around the world with my husband, Ethan.

Meet Ashley McElroy

Hello there! I’m Trent and I’m so excited that I get to see your event from beginning to end! Wedding planning is by far the best career and is the perfect merriment of my skills.

I’m an overly extroverted social butterfly who literally can’t stop talking. I’m more “go with the flow” but also can boss people around in a heartbeat. On wedding day, I seriously can’t sit down. You will see me bopping around, checking in, and maybe even dancing to Fergalicious on the dance floor. I am overly detailed and make sure everything comes together as planned. I promise we are about to have a good time!

Besides working all the time, I love spending time with my friends and giving my two cats all the love and affection they deserve. I love restaurants, bars, coffee, and a good bottle of red wine.

Hi there! I’m Madison and I am another teacher turned full time wedding planner on the team! I absolutely love to travel, a good book, cuddling with my pets, and of course spending time with my handsome hubby! I love love and feel so lucky to be a part of creating magical memories for our couples.

On wedding day, I am your go to for calming any anxious nerves. I pay extra attention to the guests of honor and their families- ensuring everyone is feeling their absolute best! My Type A self thrives in preparing logistics and coordinating with all vendors to help the day run smoothly.

You will see me arriving on wedding day with a venti coffee from Starbucks & my 40oz Stanley with water– caffeine & hydration are key!! I can’t wait to help make your day everything you dreamed!

Hey there! I'm Tommy, and I'm here to sprinkle a little extra color and charm into your life.

Married since 2022 to the love of my life, David, and our furry sidekick Huckleberry, we make quite the trio. When I'm not listening to Dolly Parton and the queens of country music, you can find me indulging in all things pink, collecting quirky trinkets, and curating captivating social media content. Life is just better when it's bursting with vibrant hues and sweet melodies, don't you think?

Join me on this journey of love, laughter, and everything in between as I share the joys of being queer, married, and living life with a mini schnauzer by my side. Let's create some colorful memories together and celebrate the beauty in every moment!

I am a proud NC State alumni with a background in the pharma/biotech industry now channeling my skills and passion into wedding and event planning. I bring a unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and organizational skills. I find joy in the creative and logistical aspects of planning.

There is something truly special about being a part of a couple's journey as they prepare to embark on a new chapter together and I feel honored to play a role in making their dreams a reality.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my furry companion, Jack. Whether we're going for a walk or just lounging on the couch, he brings so much joy to my life!

There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are for the SFW team. They made the planning process so effortless and easy, it was a dream. We were literally never stressed when Trent & co. were involved. It was 1,000,000% worth every penny to have their knowledge, expertise, and connections backing us up through the whole process.

We obviously got to know the team well too and they are incredible humans as well as planners. We will be the lucky, annoying, people who say wedding planning isn’t stressful because of SWF.
